FinX offers two modes of operation. “Local Mode” stores data exclusively on your device. “Online Mode” synchronizes your data with a FinX server: either your own (self-hosted) server or our managed hosting at myfinx.app (section 4).
For Local Mode, you are solely responsible for backing up your data. FinX cannot recover data lost from a device in Local Mode. In Online Mode with your own server, data security depends on your server configuration. With managed hosting, we operate and secure the server (section 4).
Online Mode connects the app to a FinX server. You can run your own server (self-hosting) or use our managed hosting (section 4). If you self-host, you are responsible for hosting, maintaining and securing your server. The server software is provided under its licence (Apache 2.0 with the Commons Clause) without warranty.
FinX offers an optional managed hosting service at myfinx.app. When using managed hosting, your data is stored on servers in the European Union and handled in compliance with GDPR/DSGVO. Managed hosting requires an active FinX Pro subscription.
If your subscription expires or is canceled, your data is retained in read-only mode for 30 days. After this grace period, your account and all associated data may be permanently deleted. You may export your data at any time before deletion.
FinX Pro subscriptions are processed through Google Play. Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions through Google Play Store settings.
FinX is licensed under the Apache License 2.0 with Commons Clause. You may use, modify, and self-host FinX for personal use. Commercial resale of hosted FinX services is not permitted without written consent.
FinX is provided “as is” without warranty. We are not liable for data loss, financial decisions made based on app data, or issues arising from self-hosted server configurations.
We may update these terms occasionally. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Austria, excluding its conflict-of-laws provisions. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Austria.
