FinX changelog
What changed in each FinX release, newest first. Android app versions use the notes from the in-app What's New screen. Web app and server versions cover the managed service at myfinx.app.
Web app and server 1.4.5
- Deleting your account works again for accounts that hold data. Your transactions, sources and targets are deleted with the account.
Web app and server 1.4.4
- Receipt scanning works again on real receipts.
- Receipt scanning reads the total instead of the cash amount handed over.
Android app 2.4.3
New
- Tap the cloud icon to see which changes are still waiting to sync, with the reason if one keeps failing. Retry or discard each item.
Improved
- Quieter auto-categorization: the “Always use X for Y?” popup after every save is gone. A pin next to the category saves a vendor rule in one tap, the field shows “Auto” when the category was picked for you, and FinX suggests a rule at most once per vendor, after you chose the same category 3 times.
- Source and Target now sit right below Income/Expense when you add or edit a transaction, also in the quick-add widget. The amount field shows 0,00 or 0.00 to match your language.
Web app and server 1.4.2
- The frosted glass effect on the navigation bar, the mobile menu and the cards is back.
Web app and server 1.4.0
- AI chat now finds transactions when you search with several words.
Android app 2.4.2
New
- Categories fill themselves in: pick a merchant or payer and FinX selects the category you usually use for it. If you choose a different one, the app offers to save it as a vendor rule. FinX Pro.
- Vendor rules are now stored in your FinX Cloud account and sync across your devices. FinX Pro.
Improved
- Signing in to FinX Cloud now confirms your subscription with the server first, with a clear screen while it checks and a retry option if the check fails.
Fixes
- Amounts can now be entered with a decimal comma (1,25) as well as a dot. Before, the comma was dropped and 1,25 was read as 125.
- Transactions saved offline or from a payment notification show their account, merchant and category right away, and captured payments keep their suggested category.
- Messages in the quick-add widget no longer appear partly off screen.
Web app and server 1.3.35
- Customize the dashboard layout on the web: drag cards to reorder them, hide cards and show them again. The web dashboard uses the same cards as the Android app.
- The net worth card shows all-time income and expenses and follows the source filter.
Web app and server 1.3.34
- Vendor rules are saved on the server, so the Android app picks the category for a known vendor on all your devices (Pro).
Web app and server 1.3.32
- The website and the web app use the new "F" logo.
Web app and server 1.3.29
- Signing in with Google no longer creates a new account when you only wanted to sign in.
Android app 2.4.1
Improved
- AI parsing of notifications, receipts and voice input now runs only on zero-data-retention models from a European provider (Mistral): your text is processed and discarded, never stored or used for training.
Fixes
- Location reminders are more precise: they no longer fire when you only pass within about 100 m of a small shop, and they are no longer repeated while you stay at home.
- “Ignore” on a captured payment notification discards only that notification instead of muting the whole app.
- German payment notifications such as “13,45 € bei Billa bezahlt” are now recognised.
Web app and server 1.3.28
- AI requests on managed hosting go only to Mistral endpoints with zero data retention on OpenRouter.
Web app and server 1.3.24
- The privacy policy now covers crash reports, anonymous app events and the move from local mode to managed hosting.
- AI chat answers questions about a shared account per person.
- AI chat finds your categories reliably and answers affordability questions from your own data.
Android app 2.4.0
New
- Arrange your Overview and Reports: long-press a card (or use the menu entry “Customize layout”) to reorder cards by dragging and hide the ones you don’t need. FinX Pro.
- The Overview shows an all-time total row, and Reports gained an “All” range covering your entire history.
- Going Pro from local mode now brings your data along: after the purchase you create your FinX Cloud account and the app uploads your transactions, categories, accounts and goals for you.
Android app 2.3.1
New
- Search your transactions: tap the magnifier on the Transactions tab to search by description, merchant, account, or category.
Android app 2.3.0
New
- Ask FinX AI: a chat on the dashboard and the widget answers questions about your finances ("How much did I spend on groceries last month?") using only your own transactions – with FinX Pro or your own AI key
Fixes
- Location reminders now arrive after you leave a place, not during your visit – quick stops are still detected
Web app and server 1.3.22
- New AI chat: ask questions about your transactions, category spending and account balances (Pro, 10 messages a day).
Web app and server 1.3.21
- Every account shows its current balance. You can set an opening balance, and accounts connected with Bank Sync show the balance reported by the bank.
Web app and server 1.3.20
- The website follows your browser language, in 10 languages.
- Category colours no longer change while you scroll the transaction list.
- A missing translation now falls back to English instead of showing a technical key.
Android app 2.2.1
Improved
- Smoother transactions list: new transactions now glide in as they sync, and the list scrolls straight to the newest entry
- Any existing transaction can now be made recurring: open it and flip the repeat switch, just like when adding a new one
Android app 2.2.0
New
- A short welcome tour now greets new installs: set up your first account, try voice entry, enable location reminders, turn on notification capture and choose your AI preference. Existing installs skip it automatically.
Improved
- Widget quick-add: income entries now show smart category chips (ordered by recent use) and an optional description field, matching the experience expenses already had
Fixes
- Income captured from payment notifications no longer has the account and payer swapped
Android app 2.1.0
New
- Add transactions by voice: tap the mic on the add screen or the home-screen widget and say “12 euros for lunch at Luigi's”. Speech is recognized on your device, and the filled-in transaction is shown for you to confirm.
- Savings goals work by voice too: “save 500 for vacation by December” creates a goal, “add 50 to vacation” tops one up
- Goal deadlines now use a calendar picker and appear in your local date format
Fixes
- Tapping a reminder notification now reliably opens the right screen in the app
Android app 2.0.8
Improvements
- Location reminders now arrive sooner after you reach a place, the default delay is shorter and detection no longer waits it out
Fixes
- Subscription renewal reminders now appear fully in your app language, with the renewal date shown in your local format
- Location reminders now fire for the place you're actually at, not a spot you only passed near. Each place is sized on its own, a small shop or restaurant uses your chosen radius, a large store its building outline, and a repeat visit within minutes won't notify twice.
Android app 2.0.7
Improvements
- Category quick-pick buttons now sort by what you use most and most recently, so your usual categories come first, and income transactions get them too
Fixes
- The keyboard no longer pops back up when you pick a source, target, category or date after typing a description
- Location reminders now trigger reliably when you arrive at places you spend, including quick stops like gas stations
Android app 2.0.6
Fixes
- Filtering by an account now shows its income as well as its expenses, including shared accounts
- Editing your profile, changing your password and signing out now work reliably on FinX Cloud, and Pro access is recognized correctly
New
- The account filter now lists only your accounts (not every payer), marks shared accounts with an icon, and matches the app's glass design
- A clear “FinX Pro required” screen for FinX Cloud sign-ins without a subscription
Web app and server 1.3.17
- The balance trend and largest expenses cards on the dashboard show data again.
Web app and server 1.3.16
- The source filter lists only the accounts you spend from.

- Filtering by an account now shows its income as well as its expenses, also for shared accounts.
Android app 2.0.5
Fixes
- Sign in with Google now appears on managed-hosting login and registration
- Already subscribed? You can now log in to your existing FinX Cloud account from setup instead of being asked to buy again
